Jam Hsiao's "Jam Wild Dreams"

Unless you’ve been living underneath a gigantic C-Pop rock these past couple of years, you definitely would have heard of Jam Hsiao. His emergence to the music scene was certainly an unconventional one, but then again, his voice and image (and even his name!) can hardly be dubbed ‘conventional’ either.

His rich, soulful vocals belie his true age. Merely listening to his voice, one would find it hard to believe that Jam Hsiao just turned 24 this past March. (I know I was completely blown away the first time I heard him singing.)The talented crooner already has two studio albums and one tribute album under his belt. “Jam Wild Dreams” marks album number four for Jam, and he is showing his fans that he isn’t stopping anytime soon!

Jam promises a ‘live’ experience for his latest album, with very little enhances and touch-ups – technologically speaking. I would say he stays true to his word. “Jam Wild Dreams” is a beautifully and thoughtfully crafted album, one that focuses on the real stuff, and does not rely on fancy effects or distractions.

“Jam Wild Dreams” also comes with a second CD, featuring three songs all penned by Jam himself. The songs were previously used in commercials and are definitely worth checking out.
